So by now everyone knows all about the new colors just added to Vera's retirement list, but let's take this time to talk about the styles also added to the Vera Bradley retirement home. In most cases when Vera retires a style, it means a re-vamp is just around the corner, and sometimes we seem to love the orignal more than the new guy. Are you sad about any of these new additions? Sound off now...
First on our list is the Quick Draw. I'm not sure if this was a very popular bag or not, but I've never really seen anyone carry it. Perhaps this is the reason it's being retired?
Caitlyn
This bag is super tiny. Whether Vera aimed it for the younger crowd, or the woman who carries a quarter, lol, there are a few other small bags to choose from. I doubt anyone is heartbroken over this decision.
Sophie
This is also a bag for the lady who doesn't need to carry much. It's very cute, but I'm wondering if the new Cassidy was designed to take Sophie's place.
Bookbag
Vera has several different types of backpacks to choose from so I'm not sure why they decided on retiring this one, but they did. Was this one your fav?
Snappy Wallet
I think they are totally going to redo this one, because out of all the smaller wallets, this is the number one wallet I hear people have. I know several people that will be sad to see this one go.
And last but not least is the weekender. Everyone knows about this redesign, but it's still worth mentioning. Honestly I've never studied the new weekender, but from what I've heard and glanced at the changes are minimal. If you're not picky I say pick up a weekender at the sale price.
I think the most shocking out of this bunch was the weekender, but it seems they came out with a good replacement. Are you sad to see any of these styles go? Retirement sales are the best time to pick up some good stuff at an awesome price!!
I've never seen anyone carry a Quick Draw either. It has bad reviews for the draw breaking. I just don't really find this style appealing.
ReplyDeleteI'm really hoping the Snappy Wallet is a redesign. I love it! All it needs is more card slots. It only has 3 or 4 now. 8 would be great.
The Weekender is so minor I will definitely get the old style.
I bought a Caitlyn for my almost 3 year old daughter and it is super tiny!
Yea, if they could make a bigger change thing for the snappy wallet I would consider getting it. Definitely needs more card slots.
ReplyDeleteLol was she able to fit anything in her Caitlyn?
I haven't given it to her yet. I have it put up for her birthday next month. The big 3. :( I got it during a Folkloric half off sale for 8 dollars. I was shocked at exactly how tiny it is. I knew it would be small, but it's ultra small.
ReplyDelete$8 is a steal!!

ReplyDeleteSad to see the old weekender style go. The new one has a trolley sleeve, which, in my opinion, is a waste of space. I've used the trolley sleeve on my metropolitan, and it didn't work well at all and was very hard to remove the metropolitan from my rolling luggage.
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of people say it would just fall off of your luggage while you're walking around, lol. I've always just used the long strap on my weekender and worn it crossbody.
ReplyDeleteHaha, mine kind of flopped around sideways on my luggage, and I could never remove it. I've also preferred to carry mine crossbody.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about getting a carried away, do you have one?
ReplyDeleteA *get carried away, lol
ReplyDeleteYeah, I have one in Very Berry Paisley. It is huge!! I used to use it to carry my work-out clothes and my normal purse into work. However, now that I've started running, I don't really use it too much. I definitely prefer the size of the Miller bag over the Get Carried Away.
ReplyDeleteOk I've torn between another miller or get carried away. What are your pros and cons? ( I'm planing to get one or the other when very berry paisley is retired bc all of my travel items are in that print)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I have a ton of items in Very Berry Paisley, as it is one of my favorite prints. Pros for Get Carried Away - has a couple inner pockets that are lined, so you could put water bottles in there with no fear of spills. Has shoulder pads on the straps. Lots of outer pockets. Pro or con - can fit your life in there and is huge. Con - bulky and can get heavy fast. Zipper does not completely close the entire length of the bag. Miller - pro - perfect size, in my humble opinion. I even got a compliment from a male while I was carrying it!! Has 6 inner pockets. Zipper goes all the way across the entire bag. Con - kind of looks like a baby bag (3 of my friends/coworkers with kids use this as their baby bag, so maybe I'm just biased)and only has 1 outer pocket.
ReplyDeleteOne more con for Get Carried Away - it rained on me one day, and the breakaway zipper has some sort of cardboard in it. The cardboard didn't warp completely, but it got kind of bent.
ReplyDeleteHmm. This is going to be a tough decision
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'd be interested to hear what you decide. I kind of want another Miller as well!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm packing my bag for an overnight stay tomorrow and I need to take my school stuff as well so I decided I'm going to get a get carried away. For this occasion my miller was too small and my large duffel was too big :-(
ReplyDeleteI want to see both of your collections!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll like it! What color did you go with? Btw, randomly off-topic, here is a link to some Vera specials that I found: http://www.alamoanacenter.com/Stores/Promotions.aspx. These go throughout December of this year.
ReplyDeleteAngela, I'm working on compiling my collection to take a picture to send to Sarah and/or Kameron for this blog. It is quite large and scattered around my house :>. I'll work on that more this week-end and hopefully should be able to send the pic by Monday :>.
Molly- I'm going to wait until Very Berry is retired and pick it up in that.
ReplyDeleteKameron
Oh, I see! Sorry, I noticed you said that before, but thought that you already got one. My bad!
ReplyDeleteLol no its ok!! It's hard for me to keep up with all the stuff I get!!
