Vera Bradley Winter 2013 In Store Preview

Vera lovers are always waiting for the day when we can get a sneak peek at new upcoming patterns.  Today was that day ladies!!  My store's shipment was a little late today, so nothing was set up like usual, but I was able to snap a few pics for you guys.  (This also puts that little bit I found in the source book about the winter colors being what we thought was fall.  These are the winter colors, perhaps that was a misprint?)

Glenna in Venetian Paisley
When I first saw a picture of this pattern online, I thought the background was purple, but it's actually blue.  It's very pretty, and tons of orange in this one.

Canterberry Magenta
I fell in love with this pattern the moment I saw it.  IT IS GORGEOUS!!

Canterberry Cobalt
I love this pattern also, but the pink won me over.  I can definitely see myself grabbing this when it comes out.  Someone in the store compared it to Baroque, and I can totally see that.

I am very surprised they are releasing practically the same pattern but 2 different versions in the same release. You would think they would split those up, but they're both beautiful so I don't think anyone will mind.

Inside print of Venetian Paisley
Chevron!!  This print is so hot right now and I love seeing it inside of a bag!!! (I hope you can see how blue this really is.)

Pink, pink, pink!!

What VeraObsessed and I scored on this preview trip.  Can you guess who got what?

So what does everyone think of the new colors?  Did they miss the mark this time?  Or are you absolutely in love?

  2. So my store didn't have anything set up, but they usually have totes, large duffels, grand travelers, Vera's, hipsters, Glenna's, euro wallets, turn lock wallets, zip id's, and cosmetic bags. It could be different every time though.

  3. And they usually have backpacks as well.

    1. For sure, I called the store hoping for Push Lock Wristlets, but the associate said no. So I'll see! I'm thinking something in Canterberry Magenta.

    2. Yea they never have the styles you really want!!

  4. I definitely don't care for the first one. Way to busy and I did not like Baroque so I think all 3 will be a pass for me. I own so much Vera in patterns I truly love so if I don't LOVE it I won't carry it. Will be saving $. That is good though:) Thanks for the pictures.

    1. I don't like Baroque either so I was really surprised I liked this one. Anytime I say I don't like something, I usually end up buying it lol

    2. That is funny! I know I won't be buying the first pattern though. Saw it today.

  5. I agree with Genny, unless these really look good when they are made up in the styles I like (Laura or 2-way tote) I will save my money. I guess I am more of a floral person--that's what my husband says too! While I like pinks, reds, cranberry, and maroon don't think much of magenta.

    1. I hate to be the person to tell you this, but they're retiring the two way tote in the fall. And that's a bummer bc I love that bag. I saw in the source book it's my coming in the fall colors. But who knows? Vera changes their mind all the time!!

  6. I don't think it's weird at all that they are doing two colors in the same pattern. Vera does it all the time (I.e., the twirly bird patterns, the Bali patterns, the Nantucket patterns, the cupcake patterns).

Btw, I went to the preview and I'm obsessed with Canterberry Magenta!

  7. I'm reserving judgment until I see them in different styles. These have potential, but it is not love at first sight for me from only seeing them online. I will have to see what damage I do with the Disney patterns before deciding about these :) I am not sure exactly when those (or these) will be released, though. Thanks for the preview!!

    1. I will try and get more pics in different styles for you. As far as I've heard the Disney will only be at the Disney parks or on their website. I asked my store if they would have them and they said no. :-(

    2. Thanks Sarah! I'd love to see other styles when you have pictures of them. I figured I'd have to order the Disney bags (I wonder what styles they will make in those? probably just a handful).

    3. Yea I'm betting only the more popular styles like duffels and hipsters and such.

  8. Tumbler warning. They leak and are not worth the high price. Read reviews on Vera Bradley.com Also, the one I have had for a little over a week and hand washed only has wrinkled paper and condensation inside the actual tumbler. Would like to help others out as this seems to be a repeat problem.

    1. Oh no!! I have 2 and I absolutely love them!! So bummed to hear you're having problems. I would take them to the store and see what they say.

    2. Look at the reviews online at vera Bradley. I am not the only one having problems. they are faulty it seems for the most part. I LOVE VERA BRADLEY but their quality is lacking. I bought a leather trimmed bag online. Came with the leather scuffed over 6 inches on the strap:(

    3. Please tell me you returned it!!

    4. Good!! That sounds like something that would happen to me!!

  12. I soooo want Venetian Paisley. Why is winter release so far away? :( Does anyone know how the fall release will be done? What prints come out when? Any scoop on bags retiring in fall?

    1. Yea Venetian paisley made me go back to the store and buy something the last day, lol. It's very pretty. I think the winter release is in October. They usually come out the season before. As far as I heard the fall will be 2 parts but the stores don't have official word on this. I know the first 3 colors, heather, Lola, and cocoa moss will come out July 9 I believe.

      Delete
    2. Thanks. I kinda like Lola. I like the neutral colors of Cocoa Moss but not all the cream. Will have to also see them in person.

      Delete
    3. Yea they look totally different in person. I want anything and everything in Heather.

  13. Heather, Lola and cocoa moss are going to be out this weekend in one bag style only $54 A little cross body wallet type bag that is new. I only saw it in cocoa moss as a preview last night. Sorry for those who like it but it was really ugly. I cannot see this one being a big seller. And their sales/stock report just came back yesterday...didn't look good!!!

    1. I saw that but I don't think it's a style to
Rush to the store over. I agree with you on Cocoa Moss.

  14. Venetian Paisley is pretty, but there's a little too much blue and orange for my personal taste. I think it's a better summer color, but maybe people who live in colder climates appreciate a pop of color to get them through the winter?

I'm not crazy about either of the Canterbury patterns.

    1. I agree, my first impression of Venetian Paisley was that it looked like it belonged in a Summer release. I do like it despite that.

  16. I have a lot of Vera Bradley. My fav colors are Mocha Rouge and Very Berry Paisley. I do like Lola, Heather, and Cocoa Moss. Have all three. Cocoa Moss is a great neutral.
